This tool is based on a design project database containing entire data of a PCB
design including the materials, parts, physical layout, analysis models, and analysis result
data. With the use of the unified design project database, this application can be commonly
used by multiple engineering disciplines.
From the menu bar, click File > Save as Project to create a new project directory from scratch.
A default design project name, Design_Name, is
displayed as shown below.
Creating or Sharing a Project:
New Project: Enter a name and choose a folder to create a new
project. The design folder will store all related files.
Existing Project: If a PollEx PCB design project already exists,
you can share all setup environment on the project by selecting the
existing project folder instead of creating a new one.
Project Structure:
When a project is created, necessary files are copied into the project
directory. As you progress through design and validation, additional
folders and files are automatically generated.
Note: Do not delete or move any files
within the design folder, as they are essential for the project
structure.
Using the Project:
Once the project is set up, always use the
design_name.pdbb file located in the project
directory. This file and its contents are shared with other PollEx
applications.
Revising the PCB:
If the PCB design is revised, use the Copy Project menu to
duplicate the project setup easily. This feature automatically imports
all necessary parameters, including the PCB stack-up, simulation models,
composite net information, and simulation results, into the new project
directory.
