Meshing

Enhancements

Cross Extend
FE geometry is now supported for Cross Extend.
Stitch
The CAD and FE tab has been removed from the menu.
FE geometry stitching is now more robust.
Features
FE geometry support has been added for 2D and 3D hole detection.
FE geometry 2D and 3D holes are now detected as geometry features.
Create Features can now be used to create geometry features for FE geometry holes, flanges, fillets, and logos.
Normals
FE geometry surface adjust using reference element/vector now results in better output.
  • Normals adjust using reference element uses connectivity method.
  • Normals adjust using vector uses direction method.
Auto adjust of FE geometry surfaces has been improved.
Improved Normals consistency between FE geometry surface and its elements, especially in functionalities like suppress, patch, FE geometry conversion, FE geometry update, and so on.
Extrude
Hex functionalities have been moved under Extrude.
Elements and facets selections are added in the Extrude for hex create.
Surface extrude with mesh selected creates solid elements with geometry.
New Geometry Organization
In the Geometry section of Preferences, a "New" create in option has been added.
When "Create in" is defined as New, a new part is created to place the geometry that is created from tools like Ruled, Extrude/ Revolve, Patch/Spline, Skin, and so on.
The destination component option has been removed locally from Midmesh, Midsurface, and Midline.
Create in Original.# has been added in the menu of Midmesh, Midsurface, and Midline to create Original.# component in the original part.
