- Command Format
  The commands have the following general syntax.
- Command Qualifier
  Some commands require a qualifier. The qualifier is used to distinguish one use of the command from another.
- Parameter Format
  Each command may have zero or more parameters. Most command parameters have default values.
  - String
    This is a user-given string, which is typically used for referencing another command.
  - Enumerated
    This is a set of options available for a given parameter.
  - Boolean
    A boolean parameter turns an option on or off.
  - Integer
    This is an integer value given to a parameter.
  - Real
    This is a floating point value given to a parameter.
  - List
    Some parameters require reference to a list of user-specified commands.
  - Array
    Some parameters require an array of integers, floating point numbers, or a mixture of both.
- Parameter Operators and Functions
  Parameter types of integer, real, and array may be any valid arithmetic expression. Valid expressions consist of the operators +, -, *, /, ^ (for power), parentheses, a set of built-in functions and a set of built-in or user-assigned variables, specified by the ASSIGN command.
- File and Data Format/Reading Data From Files
  AcuSolve input file supports two mechanisms for entering list and array data.
- Alternative Command Organization
  In the rest of this manual the commands are grouped into general categories and placed into chapters. In order to make a particular command functionality easier to find, an alternative categorization is presented. Each command may appear in more than one category.
- Global Commands
  This section contains the commands that define the global description of a problem or provide data that can be used globally.
- Solution Strategy Commands
  The solution strategy of a problem is specified by the commands in this section.
- Body Force Commands
  The Body Force commands are described in this chapter. These commands add volumetric source terms to the governing conservation equations.
- Material Model Commands
  The Material Model commands are described in this chapter.
- Nodal Data Commands
  The Nodal Data commands are outlined in this chapter.
- Element Data Commands
  The Element Data commands are outlined in this chapter.
- Functional Commands
  The Functional commands, except for AUTO_SOLUTION_STRATEGY, are outlined in this chapter.

Parameter Format

Each command may have zero or more parameters. Most command parameters have default values.

The parameter values are persistent, in the sense that they change only if the command is issued with that parameter. For example, the density parameter in DENSITY_MODEL has a default value of one. If you issue the following commands:

DENSITY_MODEL( "air" ) {
 density = 1.225
}
DENSITY_MODEL( "air" ) {
 expansivity = 0.0039
}

the value of the density parameter of the density model "air" is 1.225, the value of expansivity is 0.0039 and the remaining parameters have their respective default values.
