AMDC Release Notes 2023.1

The release notes provide details about the new features and enhancements in AMDC 2023.1

Materials Data

  • New Materials: 3278 new materials have been added to the database, which includes 2278 new metals, raising the total number of metals in AMDC to over 4300. Also, 1000 new polymer trade products that further strengthen our offering in plastics.
  • New Material Properties and diagram types: Thousands of new curves, split into 25 new diagram types have been added. These include not only temperature-dependent data on specific heat, tensile modulus, and poisons ratio, but also EM data such as permeability, magnetization, and demagnetization curves. Also a lot of metals now contain data on viscosity/vapor pressure vs temperature.
  • More CAE Ready Data: In addition to new materials, existing materials in AMDC are continuously enriched to increase their CAE usability. Over 6400 materials can now be downloaded into various solver formats & simulation disciplines. These include over 2700 new materials for structural simulations, 28 for low-frequency electromagnetic simulations, and 3700 for high-frequency electromagnetic simulations.

New Features

  • Free Access to AMDC without registration: The unregistered users can preview the database AMDC and will see the Free/Unregistered version. View the list of all available materials, producers of the materials, available properties, plots, export interfaces, and more, all this information without having to log in to the application. Only basic material data details are viewable as free access.

Logging in with a free Altair One account, more data can be unlocked. Obtaining Premium Access to AMDC provides users unrestricted access to AMDC material data details and software features.

  • Favorites: The Favorite menu allows users to create and manage multiple lists of favorite materials. Compare a list of materials saved as favorite or share your favorite materials list with others through using clipboard or email.

Integration with Applications

  • HyperMesh: Experience a seamless integration with HyperMesh, a powerful CAE preprocessor that supports many solvers. Now connect to AMDC from within HyperMesh and download CAE ready material cards for the selected solver directly into HyperMesh.
  • CADFEKO Access and download high-frequency EM data materials directly into CADFEKO and a robust preprocessor designed for building FEKO models.
  • Inspire Extrude Ploymer: Download CAE-ready material data for polymer extrusion simulations directly inside Inspire Extrude Polymer.
  • Altair Material Modeler: Download stress-strain curves & material parameters directly into the Altair Material Modeler. Also, edit material data, characterize curves, validate, and create CAE-ready material models.

AMDC Authoring Features for Private Database

  • Material Data Lifecycle States: Each material in the database has customizable lifecycle states, and various actions can be associated with the material throughout its lifecycle.
  • Improved Material Import: The updated material import in AMDC offers increased flexibility and intuitive functionality. Its fluid interface enables selecting and importing multiple files simultaneously with a single click.
