Getting Started

Altair Material Data Center (AMDC) provides accurate multi-domain material properties to enable the creation of sustainable, efficient, and lightweight designs.

AMDC facilitates designers, engineers, and scientists to effortlessly explore, search, and compare materials using a modern web interface and download material data as PDFs or solver cards. AMDC grants access to a comprehensive range of materials from various suppliers. This scalable cloud solution caters to the requirements of diverse product development teams, spanning from early concept design through manufacturing simulation to final validation.

AMDC offers two main solutions:

AMDC Public Database:
  • Presents an engineering material data repository founded on validated test results, ensuring secure sharing of updates with product development stakeholders.
  • Encompasses structural, fatigue, thermal, and electromagnetic properties, inclusive of manufacturing process-specific information.
  • Adheres to strict revision control, users can confidently utilize validated and approved material data.
  • With a continuously expanding database, AMDC currently hosts more than 72,000 datasets, spanning over 270 material types sourced from 400+ renowned material producers worldwide.
  • Download material data sheets, plots, and solver cards with full traceability back to the supplier source, guaranteeing consistency across teams.
  • Supplier-specific data integration facilitates early supplier selection, optimizing purchasing, production planning, and supply chain management processes.
  • Supports all major CAE solvers, not limited to Altair products, and integrates seamlessly into various Altair software including Altair® HyperMesh®, Altair® SimLab®, Altair® Inspire™ Mold, Altair® Inspire™ Extrude Polymer, CADFEKO, and Altair Material Modeler (AMM).

AMDC Private Database:

  • Offers flexible access from any device, anywhere, empowering users with collaboration and productivity.
  • Its powerful authoring tools provide an extensive flexibility in customizing the database structure, user interface, expanding CAE export capabilities without requiring software development, serving as a low-code, no-code platform.
  • Organizations receive a dedicated private space on the Altair One platform for exclusive data storage and sharing within their organization.
  • Users can add, modify, and maintain material data, while admins and managers use built-in tools to manage users, define access levels, assign permissions, and design the database as needed.
  • The CAD and CAE interfaces are customizable and compatible with both Altair and non-Altair products. As a standardized central material data management tool AMDC ensures collaboration among teams ensured, saving time and costs.
  • The system prioritizes data security and confidentiality, enhancing overall efficiency and reliability in engineering projects.
