How Do I Create a Structure with a Regular Shape Pattern?

How do I create a structure with a regular shape pattern?

While you can use the Symmetry shape controls to create symmetric or cyclic symmetric shapes, to achieve greater control over the pattern, you may want to split the design space and create instances. This is particularly useful when applying bead patterns.
  1. To create instances, split the design space part into small regions of regular shape.
  2. Delete most of these parts, leaving only those needed to define the pattern.
  3. Select these remaining parts, use Ctrl + C to make a copy of them, then right-click and select Paste Instance from the context menu to create multiple instances.
  4. Move these instances to the desired location and orientation using the Move tool.
  5. During optimization, Inspire will apply pattern recognition to the instances to generate regular shape patterns.
