Create FOS Materials

Creating materials with FOS properties differs slightly from creating materials with SN/EN properties.

Select the FOS fatigue module to create FOS materials.

  1. Click the Material tool.

    Figure 1.
    The Assign Material dialog opens.
  2. Click the My Material tab.
  3. Click to create a new material.
  4. Edit the name of the newly created material and any relevant properties.

  6. Define the TFL parameters from the FOS tab.
    Option Description
    Real
    1. Enter a Torsion Fatigue Limit value.
    2. Enter a Hydrostatic Stress Sensitivity value.
    3. Enter Safe Zone Angle (STHETA) and Shear Threshold (SSHEAR) values to help determine safe zones for the FOS calculation.
    4. Click Plot and Save.

The plot is updated and the table is populated with CSV values.
