Create Responses
Create output responses for the entire model, points, or individual parts.

From the Design Explorer ribbon, select the Responses
tool.

To add individual responses for each selection, in the
guide bar select Options
, then turn on Add a Response for Each Selection.

Use the dropdown menu on the guide bar to select the
type of response you want to create.
- Use the dropdown menu on the guide bar to select whether you want to create responses for parts or points.
- Select the model, components, or points for which you want to create a response.

On the guide bar, click
to create the response.

Make any desired modifications to
the created response in the microdialog.
Option Description Note Response Name Enter a name to identify the response a response for the entire model. Response Type Use the dropdown to choose Response, Objective, or Constraint. Component Use the dropdown to choose a component for the response. Request Use the dropdown to choose a request type. - Maximum (Absolute Value): Displays the absolute value of a response. For example, the absolute value of -3 or 3 is 3.
- First Value: Shows the first value for time-based analysis responses.
- Last Value: Shows the last value for time-based analysis responses.
- Maximum: Displays the largest value of a response.
- Mean: Displays the average of a range of responses.
- Minimum: Displays the smallest value of a response.
Goal Use the dropdown to choose whether to minimize or maximize motion when Objective is selected. Component Constraint Use the controls to constrain the selected Component when Constraint is selected. When constraining formability, the following numeric values correspond to formability results:- 0 = Loose Metal
- 1 = Wrinkle
- 2 = Compression
- 3 = Safe
- 4 = Marginal
- 5 = Failure
Select the Add button to add another constraint.
