# sinc

Compute the sinc function.

## Syntax

y = sinc(x)

## Inputs

`x`- Values at which to evaluate the function.

## Outputs

- y
- The output values.

## Examples

Example with a scalar:

`y = sinc(0.5)`

`y = 0.636619772`

`y = sinc([-1:0.2:1])`

## Comments

The sinc function has the normalized form sin(pi x)/(pi x) and is related to the Fourier transform of a rectangular pulse.
