Table Design Ribbon Quick Reference

The Table Design ribbon displays when you select Table Design from the Table View window.

 

The options that display will help you work with your table to extract the information you need from it.

Button

Description

Saves the specified settings and closes the Table Design window.

Discards the specified settings and closes the Table Design window. 

Opens a dropdown menu that you can use to quickly add and define a

  • Formula field
  • Lookup field
  • Runtime field
  • User-edited field
  • Filter
  • Sort
  • Address Block
  • Function
  • External lookup

Duplicates a field, function, filter, or sort in a table.

Deletes a field, function, filter, or sort in a table.

Launches the Database Properties window, which will allow you to specify fields and filters to import from database tables.

Note that this button only displays if your table is obtained from a database. 

Launches the External Lookup Properties window, which will allow you to define and modify external lookups for your table.

Displays a list of the fields present in your table and allows you to modify their properties.

Displays the input (general, template, advanced) properties of all fields in your table and allows you to modify them. 

Launches the Database Field Properties window, which will allow you to view and modify the fields obtained from database tables.

Note that this button only displays if your table is obtained from a database.  

Launches the Formula Field Properties window, which will allow you to define and modify formula fields for your table. 

Launches the Lookup Field Properties window, which will allow you to define and modify lookup fields for your table.

Launches the Runtime Parameter Field Properties window, which will allow you to define and modify runtime parameters for your table.

Launches the User Edit Field Properties window, which will allow you to define and modify user-edited fields for your table. 

Launches the Filter Properties window, which will allow you to define and modify filters for your table.

Launches the Sort Properties window, which will allow you to define and modify sorts for your table.

Launches the Address Block Properties window, which will allow you to extract details from address blocks. 

Launches the Function Properties window, which will allow you define and modify functions that can be applied to your table data.

Launches the Monarch Help file.
