Plate Die Creation Overview
A quick overview of the plate die creation procedure.
- Step 1: Orient Bodies
- Orient the bodies by selecting the exit face.
- Step 2: Extract Features [optional]
-
- Create custom shapes to represent the die cavity. These can be sketches or surfaces.
- If you have a sketch, use the Extract tool to extract surfaces out of the sketch.
- Step 3: Create Loft Bodies
-
- The extracted surfaces, or existing surfaces, represent the inlet, intermediate, and exit faces of the die.
- Use the Loft tool to create separate lofted bodies by selecting adjacent surfaces.
- Step 4: Subtract Parts [optional]
-
- This is model-dependent and often is not required. The Boolean tool is provided for convenience to make corrections in the Plate Die ribbon instead of the Geometry ribbon.
- Step 5: Create Die
-
- Use the Create Die tool to select the created lofted bodies.
- Select the plate cross section face.
