Convert rigid connections from a NVH model into flexible connections for squeak and
rattle assessment.
Connections play an important role in squeak and rattle models. There are multiple
types of clips and snaps across the model that need to be addressed differently.
There are two workflows you can use to create flexible connections:
Automatic
Create multiple connections automatically by selecting nodes, features,
or solids. Figure 1 shows
some of (but not all) the clip geometries that can be addressed with the
automatic method.
Figure 1.
Manual
Create connections by selecting one or more elements or nodes that will
define the rigid elements of the connection. The connection element can
be a CBAR or a CBUSH. This method is available for when you want to have
more control over the connection creation, the clips are not modeled at
such a detailed level, or if the clip and the hole are not very well
aligned.
On the SnRModelBuild ribbon, you will find the following native HyperMesh tools that can be used in the creation of flexible
connections: Features,
Connections Library, and Systems.
