VSM and VSMX are both file extensions for Embed diagrams. The difference between the file extensions is how Embed saves diagrams that contain blocks with associated files, referred to as VSMX-capable blocks. VSMX-capable blocks include animate, bezel, button, compound, dialogTable, embed, import, map, stateSpace, and transferFunction blocks.
