Altair One SaaS Release Notes 2025.0.0.0
The release notes provides details about the enhancements and resolved issues in Altair One 2025.0.0.0
Linux Appliance OS Upgrade – Oracle Linux 8.8
We have upgraded all Linux appliances to Oracle Linux 8.8. This release includes the
following enhancements:
- Standardized OS Image: A unified Oracle Linux 8.8 image is now published to all Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) for use in Altair One. This same image will be used in Virtual Appliances (VA).
- Support for New GPUs: The updated OS enables compatibility with newer-generation GPUs that require a modern kernel and driver support.
- GPU Driver Automation: PCLM automation has been enhanced to streamline GPU driver installation and updates on Oracle Linux.
- GNOME Desktop Environment: Remote desktop sessions on NavOps appliances now use the GNOME desktop for improved usability and consistency.
- Improved OCI Integration: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) support has been enhanced. To enable OCI for your environment, please contact the Altair Community and Support.
Remote Desktop GPU Instance Upgrades
We’ve upgraded the underlying GPU instances used for remote desktops (Graphics Base)
across major cloud platforms to provide improved performance, stability, and GPU
capabilities:
- Azure: Upgraded from NV12s v3 (½ × NVIDIA Tesla M60) to Standard_NV12ads_A10_v5, featuring AMD EPYC 74F3v processors and NVIDIA A10 GPUs (24 GB).
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Replaced N1 + T4 GPU n1-standard-16+nvidia-tesla-t4-vws with g2-standard-12 NVIDIA L4
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): Upgraded from g3.4xlarge to g4dn.4xlarge, equipped with 1 × NVIDIA T4 GPU, 8 vCPUs, and 64 GB RAM.
New GPU Instances Available in Azure
Two new high-performance GPU instance types are now available for remote desktop and
compute workloads in Azure:
- Standard_NC64as_T4_v3 Features NVIDIA Tesla T4 GPU (16 GB) — ideal for graphics rendering, AI inferencing, and general GPU acceleration tasks.
- Standard_NC48ads_A100_v4 Equipped with NVIDIA PCIe A100 GPU (80 GB) — designed for advanced AI/ML training, large-scale simulations, and compute-intensive applications.
