Scale an Appliance

An administrator can scale virtual appliances by adding or removing clusters on-demand based on workload and usage.

You can scale an appliance:

• Add or remove hardware while the appliance is UP.
• View the status of the deployed nodes provided with the hardware details before scaling up.
• The number of Altair Units checked out is displayed while the appliance is up.
• Based on the scale up and scale down changes the Altair Units are updated automatically.
• Manage the deployed nodes using Start, Stop, Online, and Offline.
• Use the troubleshooting functionalities Reconfigure and Reinstall when a node misbehaves.
