DFE Environment

View DFE Environment setting methods.

From the main menu of PollEx PCB, click Option > DFE > DFE Environment.
The PollEx DFE Environment dialog opens.

User Information Setting

There are three subsections within the DFE User Information Setting: Global, Default File, and Core Running Environment.

Global

Define the decimal digit and the number of pictures when result data are exported as an MS Excel file with pictures. If result pictures are over 65,000 columns, it may cause amemory size problem, so it is necessary to define the limit.

Default File

Define each file path to load and use for DFE checking.
  • Default DFE Input File Path (.DFESI): You can define the input file (.DFESI) as default one. If a certain file is defined here, whenever you open the DFE input dialog, that one will be loaded.
  • Report Excel Setting File Path (.DFEE): You can define the DFEE (formatted Excel Report file). It will be automatically loaded when you click User Defined Excel Format.
  • Default Component DB Path: Define the database path that is used for DFE checking. It will automatically be loaded from the defined file path when the DFE input dialog is opened.
  • Default Net DB Path: Define the database path that is used for DFE checking as classified the NETs. It wile automatically be loaded from the defined file path when the DFE input dialog is opened.

Core Running Environment

If you have several input files for DFE, you can make a simple running environment. DFESI files are located in the defined folder. This is called Core Running within PollEx DFE.

For example, select the DFESI file from the folder and then define the DFE Input File menu as file path. Provide the name in the Name section. You can make several file paths for loading DFESI.
  • Display Result Option: Select the DFE result that will be shown or not after DFE is finished running.
  • File Name Option: Select this option to create the name of the result file as the sum of the name of the design file and the name of the input file.
  • Auto Save Result File (.DFESR): Select the option to save the result file (.DFESR). If the result file (.DFESR) should be saved to a certain file path (folder) every time, select this menu and then define the folder to save as Cad File Path or Defined Folder.
    • Cad File Path: the result file is saved on the loaded design file for DFE running.
    • Defined Folder: the result file is saved on the defined folder.
  • Auto Save Report File (.xls): Save the Excel report. If it should be saved as a certain file path (folder) every time, select this menu and then define the folder to save as Cad File Path or Defined Folder.
    • Cad File Path: the result file is saved on the loaded design file for DFE running.
    • Defined Folder: the Excel report is saved as defined folder.
