Introduction to Lesson 1

Previous Monarch builds saved models to the text and XML formats (e.g., .mod, .prj, .xmod, .xprj). Monarch introduces a change from the old XML formats for models and projects, and replaces these with binary DMOD and DPRJ formats. Monarch cannot save back down to the old XMOD and XPRJ formats but it can read them.

We'll begin this lesson by converting a set of text (.mod) and XML (.xmod) models into the binary format. Then, we'll finish up the lesson by copying the newly created .dmod models to a new location.
