Security Options

Use this window to specify whether you want to save the passwords for imported databases in projects or models, and whether you want to save passwords from PDF files in projects.

To access this window select Options from the Home ribbon, then select Security from the Options Window ribbon.

NOTE: Passwords are saved using 1024-bit RSA encryption.

Description

Save passwords from imported databases in projects and models:

  • Always: Specifies that passwords from imported databases will always be saved in projects and models.

  • Never: Specifies that passwords from imported databases won’t be saved in projects and models.

  • Prompt: Specifies that you want to be prompted about saving the passwords of imported databases. If you select this option, whenever you import a password-protected database into Monarch Classic and then go to save the model or project, Monarch Classic will display a dialog that will give you the option of saving the password.

Save passwords from PDF files in projects:

  • Always: Specifies that passwords from PDF files will always be saved in projects.

  • Never: Specifies that passwords from PDF files won’t be saved in projects.

  • Prompt: Specifies that you want to be prompted to save the passwords of PDF files. If you select this option, whenever you import a password-protected PDF file into Monarch Classic and then go to save the project, Monarch Classic will display a dialog that will give you the option to save the password.

When you open a password-protect PDF file, the PDF Password dialog displays. You must enter the correct password to the PDF file to continue opening it.

Save login credentials in projects

  • Always: Specifies that login credentials for projects should always be saved.

  • Never: Specifies that login credentials for projects should never be saved.

Save passwords from archives in projects

  • Always: Specifies that passwords from archives in projects should always be saved.

  • Never: Specifies that passwords from archives in projects should never be saved.

Login Credentials

Allows you to specify a default user name and password to be applied when using files from SharePoint (HTTP) and FTP locations, Amazon S3, and Tableau Server.

To enable saving to HTTP and FTP locations, the following credentials must be provided:

  • User ID/Username: Enter the default user ID (user name).

  • Password: Enter the default password.

  • Confirm Password: Enter the default password again to confirm it.

For saving to HTTP locations, you can select the Use Current Windows Login checkbox to apply the current Windows credentials.

 

To enable saving to Amazon S3, the following credentials must be provided:

  • Access key ID

  • Secret access key

 

To enable exports to Tableau Server, the following credentials must be provided:

  • Path to TABCMD

  • Server address

  • Site

  • Proxy address

Description

Make these the default settings

Saves the current settings in the Registry as the defaults for future Monarch Classic sessions. NOTE: When closing the current model you will be prompted to save the model changes. You must select Yes to save the tab settings as the defaults. If you choose not to save the model changes, the tab settings will not be saved as the defaults.

Restore from default settings

Restores the settings to the default values previously stored in the Registry.
