How Do I Select When There Are Overlapping Sketch Entites?

If the sketch entity is not selectable because it is overlapping with another sketch entity, right-click on the overlapping entities in sketch mode to open the context menu, then choose Select Other. This will open a menu that will allow you to choose which entity to select.
