Get Updates and System Information

In addition to the main releases of Altair HyperWorks products, Altair issues software updates between major releases.

To get information about the latest updates and the base installation directory, use the HyperWorks Updates and System Information dialog. The Updates Information tab displays information about the current release of the application including installed updates and the versions of major application executables. The System Information tab displays the information about the machine type, hardware, operating system, graphic card, and user name.
Attention: On Windows 11, WMIC is now an optional feature. If WMIC is not installed, the System Information tab will not work properly and will instead display an Application Error message.
  1. To access the HyperWorks Updates and System Information dialog, from the File menu, click Help > Software Version.
  2. To view the release notes for the installed products, click the links in the Updates Information tab.
  3. Use the Copy button to fill the clipboard with the update information. This information may then be pasted into email when corresponding with Altair Support.
