Cables#

The MotionSolve cable API statements help you model model-based cable elements.

The cables library enables the modeling and simulation of winches, pulleys, anchors and cables wrapped around them in various configurations. The formulation supports winch geometry and inertia fluctuation and pulley sliding contact and disengagement, with longitudinal tension coupling between pulleys. Neither transverse loading nor vibration are considered in the equivalent cable differential equations. In MotionSolve, the Cable is a high-level entity, that receives the Winch, Pulley and Anchor high-level entities as input references, in order to produce a cable track assembly, by wrapping around them.
