The following steps are based on a scenario of rotating a tool about the Y axis.

1.Using the tool summary panel, set the selected tool to have fixed translation and y rotation.
2.Edit the tool’s component, setting the inertia card option. Set the parameters XC, YC, and ZC, which correspond to the center of mass for the rigid body. In this case, all the parameters are equal to zero. Set the TM (translational mass) to 1. Set the diagonal inertia tensor components to 1, i.e. IXX=IYY=IZZ=1.
3.Create a load curve for the rotational motion, in radians. (1/180 degrees = pi radians, or 1.745329e-2 radians/degree) For example, for 75 degrees the curve should be:
0.0  0.0
0.050  1.3090

Set the termination time and d3plot cards appropriately. The length of time should be considered carefully. Avoid rotating too quickly.
4.Create a prescribed motion for the tool, setting DOF to 6 (corresponds to y-axis rotation), VAD to 2 (displacement).
