Cleanup Utility

The Cleanup Utility is a script for Windows that removes any custom settings that you may have due to the Altair applications installed.

Use the Cleanup Utility when a settings file is corrupted and prevents products from launching. It cleans the default location of Documents and also cleans the locations pointed to by the following environment variables, if set:

HM_COMMANDFILE_DIR
HW_COMMANDFILE_MODE
HM_MENUSET_DIR
HM_MENUSET_OVERWRITE
HM_SETTINGS_DIR
HW_SETTINGS_DIR
HW_CONFIG_PATH

The files or directories that are cleaned include:

hmsettings.tcl
hmmenu.set
command.*
hwsettings.xml
.altair directory in Temp
Altair directories in your home

The cleanup scripts are located in the <install_directory>\hwdesktop\utility\HWCleanup directory.
