Comments
- Grid points on the axis of symmetry should not be defined on the CYJOIN entry.
- The displacement coordinate system (CD field on the GRID entry) for a grid on CYAX must be rectangular. The Z-axis in this coordinate system must coincide with the axis of symmetry for the model.
- Grid points on CYAX may be constrained by SPCs, but not by MPCs. If all components are constrained by SPC, the grid point will be internally ignored from the CYAX list.
- When 3 or more cyclic symmetric
segments (defined by NSEG field on the CYSYM entry) are involved, then any SPC to be
applied to the grids on CYAX should satisfy the following
rule:
- Both components 1 and 2 should be constrained, otherwise neither of them should be constrained. The same rule applies to components 4 and 5.
- There is no restriction to components 3 and 6.
- By default, the axis of symmetry is defined by the first grid pair on the CYJOIN entry, while the CYAX entry does not define the axis of symmetry for cyclic symmetry analysis. Adding PARAM, AXCYSYM, YES allows the axis of symmetry to be defined according to the grids listed on the CYAX entry, instead of using the grids from the CYJOIN entry, and the rules described in Comment 2 still apply.
