Removal of Modeler and CAD import/export

Why?

For strategic reasons, the external geometric kernel library (ACIS), which allows to build a geometry via the modeler and to export/import CAD files, has been removed.

Consequences

The impact of removal of Modeler and CAD import/export is mainly for Flux 3D (which is also removed in Flux 2026, see Removal of Flux 3D / Flux PEEC) but also for Flux 2D.

Flux 2D is still accessible in Flux 2026, but CAD import/export is now not possible in Flux 2D also.

Recommended ways

The recommended ways to build a geometry are:

• use SimLab to create your geometry and to achieve your EM study
• use another tool to build a CAD geometry and use SimLab to import this CAD file and achieve your EM study

What's happening to previous releases (Flux 2025.1 and below)

The geometric kernel library (Modeler and CAD export/import) is always delivered with Flux 2025.1 and previous versions. You could always use these versions.

What's happening to Flux 2026 and future releases

For Users:

• With Flux 2026 (and future versions)Flux 3D being removed, it will be impossible to open your 2025.1 (and previous versions) Flux 3D project with Flux 2026 (and future versions)
  A faire : use SimLab (Import Flux project) or a previous Flux version

• With Flux 2026 (and future versions), it will be possible to open a 2025.1 (and previous versions) Flux 2D project:

  • without CAD file (no change)

  • with CAD file (with internal processing of the project when the project is opened): the CAD file will be cleaned and the project renamed "ProjectName_2026.FLU"

    Important : The 2025.1 (and previous versions) 2D project must be meshed to be able to open it with Flux 2026.
