AMDC Release Notes 2024.2
The release notes provide details about the new features and enhancements in AMDC 2024.2
Material Data
-
New Materials: Over 5000 new materials added including steel, various polymers and additives.
-
Data for CAE:
- Polymers with rheological data are now validated using Polymer Material Data Analytics (PMDA) tools for seamless Injection Molding simulation.
- Thermal simulation support extended for 1800+ materials.
New Features for AMDC Public Database
Similar Material Search in Tile View:
- A powerful tool to discover alternative materials based on mechanical, thermal, or electrical properties, is now available in Tile View in addition to Table View.
Enhancements in CAE Interfaces:
- Over 1,800 materials with thermal simulation data can now be exported to OptiStruct - MAT4, SimLab - Thermal, and Abaqus - Expansion CAE cards.
- CAE export for Nastran MAT1 and MATS1 is now available for more than 30,000 materials.
- Structural simulation support has extended for an additional 200+ JAHM materials, now downloadable for Ansys Workbench - Plastic, Abaqus - Plastic, LS-Dyna - MAT24, and PamCrash - MAT103.
Integration with Applications:
- Leverage material data from Altair Material Data Center™ within Altair® Inspire™ to quickly explore, search, compare, and download materials through AMDC’s seamless integration.
New Themes
- AMDC users can now easily switch between Light, Dark, and Light Blue themes, similar to other Altair products.
Improvements in UI and User Experience
- Tile View
- Fixed field and tile heights ensure a consistent appearance across materials on the viewer page.
- The Similar Material Search icon is now available in the tile footer.
- Grouping
- Materials with the same name but different processing conditions or properties are now grouped under a common material heading. Users can expand or collapse to view all child materials and their properties, enhancing material data representation in AMDC.
New Features for AMDC Private Database
- History Tab: AMDC Private Database users can now access a dedicated History Tab to view version history for each material, ensuring transparency and full traceability throughout the material's lifecycle.
- Accessing Private DB with AMDC Plug-ins: With HyperWorks 2024.1, users can download material cards from their AMDC Private Database directly within Altair® HyperMesh®, Altair® SimLab®, Altair® Inspire™, Altair® Inspire™ Mold, Altair® Inspire™ Extrude Polymer, and Altair® Material Modeler™ using the AMDC plug-in.
