Utilities

- Remote Server
  A remote newFASANT server can be set up to execute a project remotely.
- Batch Meshing and Execution of Projects
  newFASANT supports two methods of meshing and running simulations from the command line or terminal, allowing you use the mesher and kernels without launching the newFASANT GUI.

  newFASANT offers the possibility to work with a queueing system such as Altair PBS Professional, LSF or Slurm.
GUI
An overview of the newFASANT graphical user interface is given.

MOM
MOM is used for the 3D analysis of complex antennas, on board antennas, electromagnetic compatibility and radar cross section (RCS).
Periodical Structures
Periodical structures is used for the analysis and design of reflection and transmission coefficients in periodical structures and metamaterials.
Parabolic Equation
PE is used for the analysis of radio-wave propagation over land and sea for medium and large distances.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is used for the 3D analysis of ultrasound emitting sources and time delay response simulation.

High Performance Computing (HPC)/Queueing

newFASANT offers the possibility to work with a queueing system such as Altair PBS Professional, LSF or Slurm.

This feature allows you to upload your projects to a cloud queue, and the system decides in which node of the cluster the simulation will run.

To enable it, go to Simulation > HPC Parameters and the following panel appears:

By selecting the Enable HPC check box, the rest of the options are enabled. Select the queueing system (SLURM, LSF, PBS).

The script that is launched can be modified under Parameters.

In all HPC scripts, there are three common parameters:

NF_BIN: The directory that contains all executables.
NF_INPUT: The input file for the kernel.
NF_MPI: The path to the MPI executable.

The above parameters are automatically set up by the GUI. If you want to revert modifications to these scripts, it can be done underDefault Parameters, which contains the original, unmodified scripts. To save the changes, click Save.
