FE Geometry

      Tires are critical elements to modeling a vehicle’s interaction with a road, with some tire models better suited to specific simulation domains.

      MotionView integrates MF-Tyre and MF-SWIFT tire models from Siemens (branded by Siemens as Simcenter Tire).
    - PM Flex Tire
      This tire is a FE based flexible tire solution from Pratt Miller that can interact with EDEM particles representing soil, sand, gravel, and so on. The tire model requires a finite element modeling file (.bdf) and other associated files. The AutoTire entity in MotionView provides a utility to generate the required mesh files from a CAD file. The tire can then be transferred to EDEM through MotionView-EDEM coupling interface. PM-FlexTire software is available as an Altair Partner product under the Altair Units licensing system.

FTire Modeling

This documentation describes all routines of the COSIN simulation software which provide attributes of the road or terrain surface, being used in tire or vehicle simulations. These routines are subsumed under the product name COSIN/road. COSIN/road is used, for example, by the CTI tire interface to 3rd party simulation software, by COSIN/mbs, and by FTire/sim.

Some data files use the COSIN/io syntax, which is described in the COSIN/io User’s Guide.
