Altair HyperWorks Licensing 2024 Release Notes

Highlights

Altair License Manager 15.5 (and its updates) is required for Altair 2024 and its updates.
HyperWorks 9.1, 10.1, 11.0, 12.0, 13.0, 14.0, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, as well as Altair 2023 are compatible with Altair License Manager 15.5.

New Features

Product License Features: The following Altair HyperWorks applications/tools are available under Altair Units (AUs) licensing:

HyperLife

HyperLife 2024 introduces a new license feature, HyperLifeSolver, that follows the solver licensing scheme for InApp- and HPC-based evaluation. The Altair unit draw depends on the number of CPU cores assigned to the HyperLife job. The HyperLife Solver license feature is required for Stress Life, ERRI, and IEC evaluation in HyperLife Weld Certification. HyperLife sessions for setting up workflows will continue to use the license feature - HyperLife.

HyperLife 2024 requires you to install the HyperWorks Desktop and Solver packages. Installing HyperLife via Solvers is a prerequisite for Stress Life, ERRI, and IEC fatigue evaluation using HyperLife Weld Certification.

HyperMesh CFD

HyperMesh CFD 2024 introduces the new license feature, InspireGeometry. This feature is required when accessing the Solid Modeler and PolyNurbs ribbons in the Case Setup environment.

Flux

Flux 2024 introduces the new license feature, FluxPEECSolver. This feature is required to run the Parasitic Extraction solver in Flux for one core. Multi-core usage follows the Solver In-App Licensing table.

FluxMotor

FluxMotor 2024 introduces the new license feature, FluxMotorFSSolver. This feature is required to run the Flow Simulator Solver in FluxMotor. It takes 21 AUs to run the first instance. It levels on the first instance and stacks on the second instance and onward.

Simlab

SimLab 2024 introduces the new license feature, SimLabFluxPEECSolver. This feature is required to run the Parasitic Extraction solver in SimLab for one core. Multi-core usage follows the Solver In-App Licensing table.
Product Licensing Changes: SimSolid

SimSolid Standard as a Named user license.

SimSolid Basic is no longer supported.

SimSolid Standard draws 50 AUs.

SimSolid Advanced draws 75 AUs.
Engineering Data Sciences: The license feature, EngDataSciPaiShape, which is required to train machine learning models to predict simulation field results, draws 75 AUs.
romAI: The license feature, romAI, which is required within Twin Activate to leverage ROMs for computationally expensive simulations, draws 60 AUs.
HyperView Trans: HyperViewTrans, the advanced CAE results engine that enables extraction, translation, and compression of CAE results for HyperView, requires 21 AUs to run.
StarVision PRO: The AUs drawn by the StarVisionPro license feature are leveling.
SpiceVision PRO: The AUs drawn by the SpiceVisionPro license feature are leveling.; The AUs drawn by the SV_WaveForm_Analog license feature are leveling.
GateVision PRO: The AUs drawn by the GateVisionPro license feature are leveling.
RTLvision PRO: The AUs drawn by the RTLvisionPro license feature are leveling.
