Cleanup Utility

The Cleanup Utility is a script for Windows that removes any custom settings that you may have due to the Altair applications installed.

This is for use when a settings file is corrupted and prevents products from launching. It cleans the default location of Documents and also cleans the locations pointed to by the following environment variables, if set:
  • HM_COMMANDFILE_DIR
  • HW_COMMANDFILE_MODE
  • HM_MENUSET_DIR
  • HM_MENUSET_OVERWRITE
  • HM_SETTINGS_DIR
  • HW_SETTINGS_DIR
  • HW_CONFIG_PATH
The files or directories that are cleaned include:
  • hmsettings.tcl
  • hmmenu.set
  • command.*
  • hwsettings.xml
  • .altair directory in Temp
  • Altair directories in your home
