Model Build

New Features

Assembly ribbon changes
Collaborate (and Subscribe satellite) has been removed from the Organize section and placed in the drop-down.
Components, Assemblies and Include icons have been removed from the Build section, which has now been renamed Manage. The entity views can still be accessed via double-click on the entity folder in the Model Browser.
Representations context has been added to provide easy access to the best practice model build workflows which were previously accessible only under right-click context menu options.
Map Components to Parts
Under the Organize drop-down "Map Components to Parts" is a new tool that is designed to make it easier to upgrade solver decks built with components into a model built with parts in order to take advantage of all the functionality that parts offer. It requires the geometry file which is first imported into the session. Run "Map Components to Parts" and select the solver deck and the tool will match the FE to the geometry based on the shape of the parts.

Enhancements

Representation Controls
Thickness precision. When extracting the thickness from the geometry during common representation creation, you now have control over the number of decimals of accuracy to capture in the property.
Subsystem instancing
Subsystems can now be instanced if the representation is unloaded or the subsystem is empty.
Step import
The import performance of large step files has been improved.

Resolved Issues

  • Subsystem equivalence: When saving a subsystem that is connected to other subsystems, any interfaces nodes are remembered inside the representation. When that subsystem is loaded alongside the connecting subsystem the two subsystems will perform a nodal equivalence to automatically reconnect the subsystems if the node locations match.
  • Subsystem save performance: A performance issue saving subsystems with a larger number of connected nodes has now been resolved.
