Conducting region with double heat exchange (3D)
Conducting region with double heat exchange
In thermal applications there can be a specific type of region, a conducting region with double heat exchange that enables the modeling of thin conducting regions with thermal exchanges on both faces.
This region is a combination of:
-
a thin conducting region (a material region)
-
two heat exchange surfaces (non-material regions)
Definition and conditions of use
The definition and the conditions of use of the Conducting region with double heat exchange are presented in the table below.
| The region… | enables the modeling… |
|---|---|
| conducting with double heat exchange ( + heat source ) | of a conducting medium (thermal conductivity k volumetric heat capacity ρCP) |
| with thermal exchanges on both sides (by convection / radiation) | |
| with possibly a heat source (= thermal power), (uniform or space dependent) |
The thermal flux by conduction is assumed to be tangential to the surface region.
