Import Flux bulk data

Loads and Constraints > right click > Import Flux bulk data

Introduction

The loads computed in Flux can be used for model setup of Frequency Response analysis in OptiStruct solver. This can be done easily by importing the bulk data file which is exported from Flux.

During import of Flux bulk data,

  • Load cases will be created based on DLOAD cards present in flux bulk file and DLOAD ID will be linked to the modal frequency analysis load cases.
  • Force table will be created based on the values of the force in the RLOAD2 card.

Description

  1. Right click on Loads and Constraints in Loads and Constraints browser and Import Flux bulk data.

  2. Load cases will be created based on the number of DLOAD cards present in bulk file.
    • DLOAD IDs will be pointed in the modal frequency analysis Load case.
    • Flux bulk data file will be used as an external include file.

For visualization

  1. The force table will be created based on the force components available in RLOAD2 card.

The values of the force component can be visualized as contour plot.

Contour plot of each (FX, FY, FZ, MX, MY, MZ) component is possible by selecting appropriate column and click plot contour.

  2. Node group will be created for the nodes present in Flux exported bulk file.

Note:
  • OptiStruct - Flux coupling.
  • Normal mode: Eigen value extraction

Case 1: If normal mode load case was already defined. It will be used in newly created model frequency analysis load steps

Case 2: If normal mode load case was not defined, it will be created automatically and linked with the model frequency analysis load steps.

  • The model setup can be exported as a model frequency response analysis type. User can add other loads and load cases as well.
