Analysis Review Tools: Load Case

Introduction

The review tool for Load Case is used to list the loads and constraints of a load case in tabular form. It helps to vary the parameters of loads and constraints in each load case.

Steps

  1. Right click on Load Case in LBC / Solution browser to open review tool for Load Case.
  2. Selecting the load/constraint name in the table will highlight the entities in GUI
  3. Currently, this tool lists the following loads and constraints. The parameters which can be varied are shown below and this is supported only for Abaqus, OptiStruct and Permas
Supported Loads/Constraints Parameters that can be varied
    Pressure Magnitude, Amplitude table
    Temperature Uniform Temperature
    Force Fx,Fy,Fz
    Moment Mx,My,Mz
Body Force Centrifugal Force - Magnitude
    Fixed Constraint Displacement : X,Y,Z; Rotation : X,Y,Z
    Enforced Constraint Displacement : X,Y,Z; Rotation : X,Y,Z
Surface Interaction Friction Coefficient, Amplitude table
    Contact Add / Remove
    Solid Pretension Force, Adjustment Length
Flux Uniform Heat Flux, Amplitude Table
Convection Uniform Sink Temperature, Uniform Film Coefficient, Amplitude Table
Radiation Uniform Temperature, Uniform Emissivity, Amplitude Table
  4. Contacts can be added/removed in a load case. Currently it is supported for Abaqus (*Model Change) and OptiStruct (MODCHG).
  5. While importing solver decks, the varying parameters of loads/constraints are updated in the respective load cases and it can be viewed in this tool. This is supported for Abaqus, OptiStruct and Permas decks.
  6. Load case specification file will be exported in new format with the varying parameters.
  7. This tool will have a column “Flag” to set the OP=NEW/MOD parameter for Abaqus.
