Clear Credentials from Workspaces

Workspaces in Data Prep Studio may include data sources requiring you to input credentials such as logins, passwords, and tokens. This information could present a security risk, especially if unauthorized users gain access to these workspaces. Monarch Utility can clear all or select credentials from workspaces to prevent potential data leaks.

  1. Launch the Monarch Utility wizard and ensure that the button for Clear Credentials from Workspaces is selected. Click Next when you are finished.

  2. In the next screen that displays, enter the path to the source folder containing the workspaces using credentials you wish to scrub. You can use the Browse   button located beside this field to search for the appropriate folder.

  3. Check the box for Include subfolders if you wish to search for workspaces in all subfolders as well.

  4. In the Clear Credentials Settings section of the wizard, specify:

    • Whether to skip workspace files saved by a version of Data Prep Studio predating the 2020.1 release.

    • Which credential types to clear

      • Password

      • Username

      • Access Token

      • Secret Key

      • Account ID

      • Service Account Email

      • Refresh Token

  5. Click Next when you are finished.

The next screen reiterates your instructions for the scrub operation.

  6. Select Finish to proceed with scrubbing credentials from the selected workspaces if the indicated operation is correct. If you wish to make changes to the scrub operation, select Back.
