DSN
Acronym for Data Source Name. A DSN is assigned to provide a meaningful name to the otherwise esoteric details of an ODBC connection definition. DSNs can be both at System and User scope. System DSNs are visible to all users of a machine, whereas User DSNs are only visible to the user who originally created them.
