Whitespace
Also called space. A character or series of characters depicting horizontal or vertical space. Whitespace characters do not show a visible mark in a report or table but occupy memory. A typical horizontal space character is ASCII 32. A typical vertical horizontal space character is the newline character (ASCII 10).
