Opening an HTML File

You can open an HTML file (html, htm) and create templates to extract information from it, just as you would with a regular report file.

  1. On the File tab, select Open, then Report to display the Open Report dialog.

  2. From the Files of Type drop-down list, select HTML files (*.htm;*.html;*.asp). The HTML files in the Monarch Classic Reports folder are displayed.
Note: If no HTML files are listed, click the Look In field's drop-down button and navigate to the folder that contains the desired HTML file.

  3. Select a file from the list, then click the Open button. Monarch Classic displays the HTML file in the document window.

You can now create templates to extract information from the HTML file. Note: When defining templates for HTML files, you may want to use the floating trap, since data in HTML files is rarely fixed in specific columns.
