Defining Heat Transfer Coefficient

Select the part to specify the heat transfer boundary condition.

The solver automatically computes the heat transfer inside the quench zone. Users can now specify the natural convection heat transfer coefficient used for the regions of the profile that are outside of the quench zone.
  1. From the Quenching ribbon, click the HTC tool.

  2. Select the part to apply the HTC boundary condition.
Note: Clicking any surface to apply the HTC applies it to the entire part.

  3. Enter the values in the microdialog to assign its heat transfer properties.
