Customize the Report Settings and Create a Report

Configure the settings and create an analysis report. You can save the settings so they can be used for quick reports.

First, run a fluids analysis.

  1. On the Fluids ribbon, select Report Settings.

    Tip: To find and open a tool, press Ctrl+F. For more information, see Find and Search for Tools.
    The Report Settings dialog box is displayed.
  2. On the Fluids ribbon, select Report Settings.

    The Report Settings dialog box is displayed.
  3. On the General tab:

    1. Choose a Settings File:
      • Defaults: By default, the report includes the following:
        • the report title (the model name)
        • the description (left blank)
        • an image of the model in the current view
        • an image of the model in the ISO view
        • the first load case
        • the first result type
      • Click the file icon to Import a Settings File.
        Tip: To save a settings file:
        1. Select the Report Settings tool.
        2. Configure the settings as desired.
        3. Click the Save Settings button.
        4. Browse to the desired folder.
        5. Enter the file name.
        6. Click Save.
        To use a saved report settings file:
        1. Click the Restore button.
        2. Select the desired settings file.
    2. Enter the Title and Description.
      The report title appears on the first slide (front cover), while the report description appears on the second slide first page.
    3. Choose a format to Export As:
      • PPT
      • PDF
  4. On the Setup tab:

    1. Click the Parts button to select the part types you want to include in the report. Highlight each part type in turn to select the properties that you want to include in the report.
    2. Click the BCs button to select the Boundary Condition types that you want to include in the report. Highlight each Boundary Condition type in turn to select the properties you want to include in the report.
  5. On the Views tab:

    1. Select which views of your model you want to be displayed in the report.
      • Standard Views: Select one or more standard views for displaying the results.
      • Saved Views: You can save scenes in a .stmod file using the View tool and use these for capturing hotspot views of the model for specific areas of interest.
  6. On the Results tab:

    1. Select the Result Types to include in the report.
    2. Select the Style in which to display each Result Type. Highlight each Result Type in turn to select its styles.
  7. To restore the default or custom settings, click Restore and select the desired choice. By default, the report title is the model name; the description is left blank; and an image of the model in ISO view, the first load case, and the first result type are included in the report.
  8. Optional: To automatically open the report after creation, turn on Open Report.
  9. Optional: To save the current settings, which will be used for quick reports, click Save Settings.
  10. Click Create.
  11. Browse to the location where you want to save the file. The default location is C:\Documents\Altair\reports.
  12. Enter the file name.
  13. Optional: Choose a file format:
    • PPTX
    • PDF
  14. Click Save.
