Activating Mesh Refinement to Account for Proximity of Objects to a Part
Proximity mesh refinement can be enabled or disabled for a part to take into account the proximity and size of nearby objects when meshing.
Note: The highest-level items in the model are referred to as
parts.
- In the model tree, select the part.
- From the right-click context menu, click Properties.
-
On the dialog, click the Meshing tab.

-
Under Mesh controls, from the Enable
proximity refinement
drop-down list, select one of the following:
- Auto
- If the part is locked it will not affect or be affected by nearby parts.
- Enable
- The part will be influenced by refinements from nearby parts that also have proximity refinements enabled.
- Disable
- The part will not affect or be affected by nearby parts.
Important: Specifying proximity refinement in the model (global setting) takes precedence over proximity refinement specified on parts. - Click OK to close the dialog.
