Activating Mesh Refinement to Account for Proximity of Objects to a Part

Proximity mesh refinement can be enabled or disabled for a part to take into account the proximity and size of nearby objects when meshing.

Note: The highest-level items in the model are referred to as parts.
  1. In the model tree, select the part.
  2. From the right-click context menu, click Properties.
  3. On the dialog, click the Meshing tab.

  4. Under Mesh controls, from the Enable proximity refinement drop-down list, select one of the following:
    Auto
If the part is locked it will not affect or be affected by nearby parts.
    Enable
The part will be influenced by refinements from nearby parts that also have proximity refinements enabled.
    Disable
The part will not affect or be affected by nearby parts.
Important: Specifying proximity refinement in the model (global setting) takes precedence over proximity refinement specified on parts.
  5. Click OK to close the dialog.
