Quadrature Encoder-F28069M

Category: Toolbox > eDrives > Sensors

Outputs:

angle_e_n: Normalized electrical angle in scaled integer (2.32) format.

shaft_freq_n: Normalized electrical shaft speed in scaled integer (8.32) format.

Description: The Quadrature Encoder-F28069M block is used for measuring the rotor position and/or rotor speed. It uses an eQEP1 block to sense the quadrature signals and converts them to angle and speed. Its use is instrumental for achieving sensored field-oriented control of PMsyn machines.

Description automatically generated

Encoder Tick Count: Determined by the number of lines/ticks/holes in the encoder. It is the measure of the total number of pulses generated in one revolution.

Fullscale Freq (Hz): Indicates the full-scale frequency value for normalization.

Motor Pole Pairs: Indicates the number of motor pole pairs.

Theta Offset: Shifts the origin/zero of rotor position. This is used to align the measured rotor position with reference vectors while operating under field oriented control.
