PRBS

Block Category: Random Generator

Description: The PRBS block generates a pseudo-random sequence of unit amplitude pulses. You can control the frequency of oscillation and the register length.

The PRBS block can be used to see how random perturbations affect a system. System Identification software can use the output of a PRBS block to create a mathematical model of the system.

Amplitude: Specifies the maximum strength of the output signal. The default is 1. You can also enter a value in hexadecimal notation or as a C expression.

Label: Indicates a user-defined block label that appears when View > Block Labels is activated.

Register Length: Controls when the sequence of pulses repeats. The default is 6. You can also enter a value in hexadecimal notation or as a C expression.

Sample Interval: Indicates the frequency of oscillation. The default is 0.05.

You can also enter a value in hexadecimal notation or as a C expression.
