Get Started with EDEM
The EDEM user interface comprises three icons for each simulation component - Creator, Simulator, and Analyst.
EDEM Creator
EDEM Creator is the pre-processor for creating an EDEM simulation model, including setting up equipment and defining the generation of bulk materials.
EDEM Simulator
EDEM Simulator is a powerful solver used for fast and efficient simulations.
EDEM Analyst
EDEM Analyst is the post-processor used to analyze and visualize the results of your simulation.
EDEM Contact Models
A Contact Model describes how elements behave when they come into contact with each other.
EDEM Cal Utility
EDEM Cal is a utility which works with EDEM and is designed to assist in performing calibration.
EDEM Calibration Kits
The EDEM Calibration kits are a collection of EDEM models of standard bulk solids characterization tests commonly used for EDEM material model calibration.
GPU CUDA Guide
The EDEM CUDA GPU module uses the latest General Purpose Computing on Graphical Processing Units (GPU) technology.

EDEM Analyst - Analyze your results

Learn how to review, examine, and analyze the results of the simulation using EDEM Analyst.

To analyze the simulation results:

Click the icon on the Toolbar.
Use the controls below the simulation window to rewind the simulation to the first Time Step.
Click the icon to play through each Time Step of your simulation.

Color the Tablet

The next step is to color the tablet using manual selection.

To color the tablet:

Go to EDEM Analyst and select Setup Selections.
Add a new Manual Selection and set the Time to 0.23 seconds.
Select the Enable Manual Selection checkbox.
Change the Model view to +X and select the top layer of the tablet.
Clear the Manual Selection checkbox.
Go to Selections > Particle Selections > Manual Selection 01 and select the Color by Selection group checkbox.
Select a color from the Color dropdown list and click Apply.

Plot Graphs

The last step in this tutorial is to learn to plot the custom model properties.

To plot a line graph:

Plot a line graph of the plastic overlap in the EEPA model against time during your simulation.
1. Click the icon on the toolbar.
  
  Note: If you cannot see this icon on your toolbar, expand the Standard toolbar.
2. Select the Line tab and set the X-axis Time Range from 0.10 to 0.12 seconds.
3. Select Particle from the Group dropdown list.
4. In the Y-axis tab, set the Primary Attribute to Plastic overlap and Component to Average.
Click Create Graph to plot the graph.
