Overview: Sorting a Table

When you extract data from a report or import data from an external database, Monarch Classic inserts records in the Table window in the order that they are extracted or imported. However, you may want to view or export the data in another order. To sort the table you define a sort order definition, then apply it to the table. A sort order definition tells Monarch Classic which fields to sort and the order, or direction, for each field (ascending or descending).
