Multi-Column Region Definition window
Use this window to define the multi-column region (MCR) when using the Multi-Column Region trapping feature, When you define the multi-column region, you specify:

The number of columns it contains
-
The left position of the first (i.e., the leftmost) column
-
A width for the columns
-
Vertical boundaries for the MCR (i.e., top and bottom boundaries for the columns it contains)
To access this window, select Multi-Column Region from the Report Design Ribbon.

Toggle MCR Mode |
Select to activate the multi-column region feature and to enable the options described below. Note: Unchecking this dialog turns the multi-column region feature off. |
Columns (horizontal) |

Number of columns |
Specify the number of columns you want the MCR to contain (e.g., if the report contains 3 columns, then you would enter "3" here). Note: The maximum number allowed is 40. |
Left position of first column |
Indicate at which position you want the left edge of the first column (i.e., the leftmost column) to begin. Note: The default setting is "1". If the text in the leftmost column begins at the left edge of the report, leave the setting at "1". If the text begins one space in from the left edge of the report, enter "2". If the text begins two spaces in from the edge of the report, enter "3", and so on. |
Width of each column |
Enter the width to be assigned to all columns in the multi-column region. |

Indicate where you want the top of the columns to begin by selecting one of the following options:

Indicate where you want the columns to end by selecting one of the following options:

Zoom Slider |
Zoom to the left to zoom out (view more text), or slide to the right to zoom in (view less text).. |
Accept |
Click to accept the current settings and close the dialog. |
Cancel |
Click to cancel any changes you have made to the settings and close the dialog. |
